Throughout Our District . . .

One of the goals of the Palmyra Area School District as stated in our Strategic Plan is to "provide an educational environment that instills self-worth and mutual respect where each child's educational and emotional needs are identified and adequately met." Many programs and services are in place to achieve this goal.

At each level throughout the district, guidance services play a key role in the development of our students.  Eight guidance counselors (three elementary, two middle school and three high school) work with students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Instructional Support Teams (IST) at the elementary level and the  Student Assistance Program (SAP) at the middle and high school levels identify and assist students who are at risk academically, emotionally or socially.

Our district is committed to meeting the needs of all learners. Toward this end, learning support, gifted support, and speech and language support are provided within the district in Grades K-12. For learners with more severe needs, the district is a member of the Lebanon County Special Education Consortium which provides instruction for students with low-incidence disabilities. Coordinating all of these programs for the district is our Supervisor of Special Education.

Our up-to-date school facilities are also geared toward providing an optimal educational environment. Each building houses a well-equipped library to offer a range of educational resources. Also, each building has one or more computer laboratories for student use and instruction, and each teacher has a classroom computer.
