The Palmyra Area School District's three elementary schools take pride in providing a strong academic start for the community's children. With a focus on the core curriculum areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies, a dedicated and skilled staff provides a solid foundation for our students education. The mathematics program emphasizes the development of
strong problem-solving and computational skills. Effective reading and
writing skills are developed through guided instruction and daily interaction
with quality literature. The social studies and science programs
stress comprehension and analytical skills. To ensure that all our students succeed, the district
offers special assistance to students with particular needs. Reading Recovery®,
an intensive one-on-one program, helps our first graders who find
reading a challenge to become successful readers. In addition to the district-wide
support services, reading and math support are provided at all grade levels.
