Title IX

Palmyra Area School District’s Title 1 program provides reading intervention services to students who need additional support with literacy (reading, writing, word work, etc.). It is a grant from the government that allows our school to provide extra resources and services for students who may be struggling with literacy.

Identified students receive reading support from reading specialists and/or instructional aides. Throughout the year, students’ reading progress is monitored, and they may begin or end these services based on assessments and teacher recommendations.  When a child is selected for Title 1 services, a Parent-School Compact is signed by the child, parent/guardian, and teacher.

Components of Palmyra’s Title I Program include:

  • S.T.A.R.S (Support To Achieve Reading Success)
  • Intervention Groups
  • Staff Development
