Hello, my name is Mrs. Lisa Hernley.  I am the computer education teacher in the middle school.  In 1995, I received my undergraduate degree in Business Education from Shippensburg University.  Upon graduation, I had the opportunity to fill a semester-long Business Data Processing position at the Willow Street Vocational-Technical School.  In 1996, a position became available in the Palmyra Area High School.  Business Law, Computer Applications, and Keyboarding were my primary teaching responsibilities while in the high school.  In 2001, I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown University.  Since 2001, I have continued to further my education through a variety of graduate courses relative to my degrees and teaching assignments.  After 14 years in the high school, I was able to transfer to the middle school. 

Beginning in 2010, the middle school became my home.  In recent years, I have earned an Online Instruction Endorsement from Wilkes University.  I enjoy being able to work with the majority of middle school students each year.  Students complete Computer Education in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  Witnessing their growth throughout their time in the middle school is extremely rewarding.

My husband and I have two children.  Jacob was born in May 2000, followed by Mackenzie in January 2002.  We reside in Lebanon county.  In the summer months, camping and swimming are our favorite family activities.  Our son studied architecture at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and is employed by a residential planner in the Lititz area.  He is married and they recently had their first child.  Our daughter graduated from Lock Haven University.  She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and is a Kindergarten teacher in the Derry Township School District.
