Welcome, Families!

My name is Mrs. Jennifer Blystone, and I am the Reading Specialist at Forge Road Elementary School!

This is my 17th year of teaching in the Palmyra Area School District and my 11th year of teaching as a Reading Specialist.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lebanon Valley College in 2008, and I also graduated with a minor in Music.  During my first six years of teaching, I taught first and second graders at Forge Road, Northside, and Lingle Avenue elementary schools.  In the summer of 2014, I completed a Master's in Literacy Education with a Reading Specialist Certification K-12 from Penn State Harrisburg.  Ten years ago, I was excited to teach at Pine Street in a new position as a Reading Specialist and Reading Recovery teacher.  Currently, this is my fourth year as the Reading Specialist at Forge Road Elementary School, where my teaching career began!

Some of my interests include spending time with my family, reading, playing the piano and violin, traveling, and teaching children.  My husband, Dave, and I have two sons: Noah (8 years old) and Jacob (5 years old)!

As I teach, my goal is to create an environment where everyone feels loved, safe, and enjoys learning.  I absolutely love watching children learn and grow as readers and writers!
